New Westminster Station Announces Landmark Cinemas

Landmark Cinemas has signed a deal to open a 35,000 SF Cinema at New Westminster Station. Landmark Cinemas currently operates 28 Cinemas in Western Canada.

The City of New Westminster has been without a state-of-the-art Cinema complex and Landmark is pleased to be entering the marketplace with this new, modern Cinema,” said Neil Campbell, Chief Operating Officer, Landmark Cinemas of Canada. The Theatre will present first-run movies in 10 luxury auditoriums, each with Digital projection, 3D technology and stadium seating with 1,800 wide, high-backed seats.

Landmark will join Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Royal Bank and CIBC as anchors for this 200,000 sf shopping centre. Built around a skytrain station that moves over 110,000 people a week , New Westminster Station offers a unique opportunity for retailers to cater to this captive audience.

The Landmark deal brings the project to 70% preleased. Construction is now underway and anticipated completion is for 2011.

London Drugs Opens in Garibaldi Village

London Drugs, Garibaldi VillageLondon Drugs is now open in Garibaldi Village. Other retailers opening in 2010 include Flight Centre, Booster Juice, Fat Burger, Warehouse One, BC Liquor Stores, Westland Insurance and Tom Harris Cellular.

Garibaldi Village has excellent visibility and access from Hwy 99 including a right in right out straight into the centre. The site is shadow anchored by Extra Foods, Canadian Tire and Garibaldi Cinemas.

The completion of this project will solidify this stretch of Hwy 99 as the premier retail node in Squamish.

Only two retail spaces remain for lease. Professional/office space is available from 1,000sf – 10,000 sf range.

The Retail at Century is 95% Preleased

Fraser St Mixed UseLedingham McAllister’s Century development in Vancouver at the corner of Fraser St 29th avenue is now almost fully pre-leased. Loblaw’s NoFrills banner and Shoppers Drug Mart are slated to open in 2011.

There is 1,400 sf remaining, ideal for a coffee shop or service tenant.
